Cool White8Natural daylight balance
Warm White4Warmer spectrum tones
Red2Enhances reds, balances light mix
395nm UV4High-end spectrum enhancement

This array creates a spectrum rich in actinic light, while maintaining flexibility to simulate daylight or strong blue/UV peaks.

PAR & Light Spread

Following the installment of the Radion XR30 G6 Blue on the 90x60x60 cm tank, I took a series of PAR readings with an Apogee MQ-510 quantum meter to assess how the light performs in the real tank application, despite the fact that the system is as yet unstocked with corals. Even at a height of some 20 cm above the water surface, which I chose for optimal spread and blending of the fixture—measured central PAR was in the range of 450 to 500 µmol/m²/s. Moving to the periphery of the tank, this reduced to within the range of 240–260 µmol/m²/s, still well in the top range for LPS or lower light SPS corals. At 30 cm water depth (where I aim to position most of my Acropora colonies in the future), PAR levels varied from 250 to 400 µmol/m²/s depending on the relative position from the center. These are optimum levels for high energy SPS corals, which generally do best in this intensity range when situated on the top third of the aquascape. In light of general reefkeeping practice and past experience, I plan to position Acropora millepora, tenuis, and valida on the highest regions of the rock work immediately under the main beam of the XR30, where the PAR is greatest and the spectrum is most focused. The upper regions are the ideal places from which demanding corals can absorb the light to enable them to form robust skeletal growth and maintain vibrant coloration. Even without corals in the tank yet, I can be confident that the G6 Blue is providing the intensity and coverage the SPS heavy reef will need once the time to stock the tank arrives.

Cooling System

The XR30 is equipped with a low-noise fan and redesigned heat sink, ensuring stable operation without thermal throttling. Noise levels remain below 30 dB under normal conditions.

The EcoTech Marine Radion XR30 G6 Blue is more than simply another piece of reef gear, it’s a statement of purpose for those of us who really care enough to create a thriving, aesthetic marine ecosystem. This light is not only the product of technological advancement, but also a device that allows the reefkeeper to dictate the destiny of their reef from day one. From the day I added it to my tank, I knew that the unit was thought out with the discerning reefer in mind, one not happy with “just keeping corals alive,” but with a penchant to challenge the boundaries of color, growth, and realism. The dedication to spectral tuning, the ratio of deep UV to royal blues, the clever optical spread, everything has been optimized to address the lofty standards to which challenging SPS and mixed reefs expect. Although I’ve only gotten as far as I have with creating this aquarium, which is in its beginning stages with rock and sand collaborating to form a mature system, I already see the potential this light has. It’s not simply a question of power. It’s one of control. I have the dawn, the noon sun, and the moonlight of the reef at my fingertips with the Mobius app. I can create a photoperiod that suits my imagination, gradual natural ramps, striking daylight crests, gentle moonlit nights. Whether I’m staging a gentle acclimation period, or recreating the light of bristling tropical conditions, the Radion precisely obliges. Ultimately, what sets the Radion XR30 G6 Blue apart is not its specs so much as the way it makes you feel. The sense of trust in starting with one of the most advanced, proven lighting systems available. The thrill of having the ability to know your reef will have the conditions to thrive. And the joy of seeing an empty canvas gradually become a living, thriving reefscape, with each color, each polyp, and every shimmer dictated by your lighting decisions. To the reefer who dreams big, to the one who aspires not only to create a tank but to create an ecosystem, the XR30 G6 Blue is not only a light, but the center of the dream.

⭐My overall Rating: 9.5/10
One of the best LED lighting systems for advanced reef aquarists.
